Cycling For Charity

MVA Fund in collaboration with Lotsane Senior Secondary School launched a charity fund raising initiative in 2012 to assist Lotsane Senior Secondary School students to travel to Scotland under the schools’ Connecting Classrooms Academic Exchange Programme.

The annual cycling event is meant to raise funds through sponsorships from various stakeholders and partners for which proceeds go towards the cause that sees about 15 students travel to a partner school in Scotland for the exchange programme. This cycling event was notably graced by Minister of Transport and Communications Honourable Kitso Mokaila among the more than hundred other cyclists from various cycling clubs and individual riders. The 400km cycling expedition first leg was from Gaborone to Mahalapye on the 21st July and the second leg saw cyclists riding back to Gaborone in the morning of the 22nd July 2018. 

Botswana Railways CEO Mr. Leonard M. Makwinja pledged P15.000 to support the noble cause and committed to doing even better next year. Botrail cycling club also participated on this expedition
