Director Engineering

Botswana Railways invites fully qualified Engineering Specialists with a good record of accomplishment to apply for the position of Director Engineering tenable at Botswana Railways–Headquarters, Mahalapye.This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer in the General Management Department.

Main Purpose of the Job:

To strategically plan, organise, direct, control and coordinate the provision of rail logistics services throughout the Railways’ operations to maximise availability, reliability and safety of infrastructure and equipment in the most cost effective manner. To ensure customer satisfaction and the efficient operation of the Botswana Railways facilities and achieve business objectives. To formulate, develop and execute sustainable policy programmes for the acquisition of infrastructure, operating equipment and assets to meet the organisational objectives with a commensurate return on investment.

Position Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Civil, Signaling and Telecommunications or Electrical).

Professional Qualification: Membership of the Botswana Institute of Engineers or equivalent.

Experience: At least 10 years post qualification experience in a similar role; seven (7) of which should be at senior managerial position.
