Maunatlala Agricultural Show

Botswana Railways (BR) should do aggressive marketing to move freight traffic from road to rail, said the Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Trade and Industry Hon. Moisaraele Goya. He said this recently at the Tswapong North District Show in Maunatlala. Goya further said the many freight trucks destroy the roads and they are the cause for unnecessary traffic for other road users.

For her part Botswana Railways, Key Accounts Executive Ms. Lorato Samuel said the Marketing exercise is ongoing because BR is capacitated, as it has purchased eight BD5 locomotives last year. Other services that the team sold include Blue mark and Passenger Service.

The show was held under the theme: Economic revitalization through diversification. The aim of this exhibition was to offer exhibitors and visitors an opportunity to actively promote their businesses and to stimulate intra-regional business exchange.

Exhibitions included but not limited to agricultural products, textiles and garments, manufactured products, and exhibitors from Government departments and parastatals.
