Blue Mark

Blue Mark is our parcel delivery service. It is a cost effective, overnight, door-to-door delivery service which runs between Lobatse and Francistown. All you need to do is contact one of our offices based at some of our railway stations for your parcel to be collected at minimal cost! It will be transported overnight to the desired destination. This service is fast, secure and affordable for both the individual and the corporate.

Our delivery service is available six days a week, from Monday to Saturday catering for parcels of almost any weight - from a letter to large items of up to 300kg.

Where do I find Bluemark?

Bluemark is available at all major stations between Lobatse and Francistown;

If you need to send a letter or parcel to or from any of the above locations, our customer service representatives are there to assist.

Who can use Bluemark?

Everyone! From big organizations who are time and safety conscious

  • Schools and organizations with customers and branches countrywide - Stationery, Other office consumables
  • To individuals. It is cheap! - Household goods, Parcels 

The list is endless. It is safer, quicker and cheaper to use.

How do I use this service?

It is easy! Call our offices to arrange for collection during a working day and pick up will be done before 16h30 on the same day.

What is the cost for using Bluemark?

When parcels are received at Bluemark offices, they are weighed.  The following matrix is used to determine the rate. If you need assistance with using the matrix below, please contact any of the Bluemark offices should be able to link to address with the telephone number of office for assistance.

Note

  • For consignments weighing more than 200kg; calculate in multiples of 200kg.  The balance is charged under the appropriate weight slab. For example, a consignment weighing 675kg should be charged at three times the rate for 200kg, plus the rate for 80kg.
  • The minimum weight for a charge is 5kg. Minimum charge for consignments is P27.00, Minimum charge for mail/letters is P14.00
  • VAT is applicable on all charges.

When and where can I take my parcel?

  • Deliveries by customers should be between 07h30 and 20h00 for our offices in Gaborone and Francistown.  Delivery at other stations should be between 07h30 and 16h30.
  • All parcels and packages handed to us must be fully addressed with the physical address, names of consignee and consignor, post office box number/private bag, telephone number and where possible, an e-mail address must be supplied.
  • All parcels rendered to us and accepted for conveyance are either paid for in cash or an invoice is raised.
  • Customers can take an advantage of a 30 day credit facility provided by BR. For more information regarding our credit facility, contact your nearest Bluemark Office.

Can Botswana Railways refuse a parcel?

  • Yes, Botswana Railways reserves the right to refuse acceptance for the conveyance of;
    • Parcels that are or badly packed/addressed.
    • Parcels of an offensive or objectionable nature.
    • Parcels known or suspected to contain goods or articles which are normally accepted for transport, only under special conditions.
  • We are able to make special arrangements for the conveyance of large parcels or packages and accept them only if the customer agrees to such special arrangements.

Receipt and Storage of Parcels

  • Customers are given a period of 12 hours to collect their parcels from our Blue mark offices. Note: Saturday is regarded as a full working day.
  • Parcels stored beyond the 12 hour period will attract a levy of ; P2.50 for the first day, P3.75 for two days and beyond. The Charges are per parcel. To avoid the levy being imposed please collect your parcels within the stipulated 12 hours.
  • Crockery, glass, glassware (common), and other articles of a brittle nature, not securely packed in boxes, hampers etc. are subject to a minimum weight of 5kg per consignment.

When should I expect Collection of my parcels?

Account Holders

Customers who have accounts with us can make a booking through a telephone call to arrange for collection of consignment. Bookings are done in the mornings between 07h30 and 12h30. Please provide your full physical address and contact details.

Collection of consignments is done in the afternoons between 14h00 and 18h00. On receipt, parcels are weighed and an invoice is raised. The invoice amount is then debited to the client’s account, which is payable in 30 days.

Cash customers are required to make full payment prior to the conveyance of their parcel(s).

When should I expect delivery of the parcel?

Delivery of consignments/mail to the consignee is done between 08h30 and 12h30 during week days and 07h30 to 10h30 on Saturdays. Clients are required to sign a delivery note as proof of receipts of goods.
