BR Athletics Team Participate in the ORANGE Selebi Phikwe Marathon

Botswana Railways (BR) Athletics Team leader Mr. Ntombela L. Nkane says participating in the Orange Selibe Phikwe Marathon is imperative. Speaking at the event on August 5 2017, Nkane said the marathon assisted them in their time rankings. The 15-team squad recorded 51 minutes in 2016 while 47 minutes in the 10km run. However, he expressed concern that there was no prize money or trophy for the corporate teams though they always show sheer commitment.

Meanwhile Gaolebale Mosweu BR Athlete who took 4th position said the race was awesome and that the weather was good. He thanked his Almighty God for giving him the strength for such an achievement. The competition also included a 42.2 km, 15km, and a 4km fun race.

Additional activities included tug of war and 5 aside football tournament which Botswana Railways athletics team took position 1 after beating SPEDU 5-1 on penalties.

Other corporate teams included First National Bank Botswana, Botswana Power Corporation, BDF, and Orange Botswana.
