BR PROPERTIES UNVEILS PROPOSED MIXED-USE DEVELOPMENT IN MAHALAPYE

Botswana Railways subsidiary BR Properties held a community consultative meeting at the Mahalapye Kgotla to present a proposed mall and road infrastructure development.The project will feature a three-storey mixed-use building with retail shops, a private clinic and a filling station, supported by modern road intersections to improve accessibility and traffic flow.Construction is expected to begin four months after approval of road access by the Department of Roads and take approximately 18 to 24 months. The development is projected to create around 200 jobs during construction and 250 permanent jobs once operational.The proposal received unanimous support from the community, with Kgosi Tshipe Tshipe and residents welcoming the development. Residents emphasised the need for pedestrian safety and opportunities for local companies to participate in the project.The development marks an important step towards stimulating economic activity, creating employment and unlocking new commercial opportunities in Mahalapye.
