Transport And Energy Summit

Botswana Railways participated in the just ended Transport And Energy Summit held under the theme, “Energizing Progress: Advancing Transport and Energy Solutions for Botswana’s Growth”, where the Minister of Trade and Industry Honourable Mmusi Kgafela was the keynote speaker . The summit set to bring together key stakeholders, industry leaders, policymakers, and experts in the fields of Transport and Energy to discuss and strategize solutions for driving sustainable development in Botswana .When giving the keynote address , the minister encouraged the industry players to be innovative in addressing the Transportation and Energy issues as both sectors are key drivers of the economy of Botswana.The two-day program included speakers from leading organisations and companies to discuss emerging trends in the Transport and and Energy space to discuss the newest innovations and future of both sectors. Director of Business Development for Botswana Railways Mr. Semabale Tladi , participated in the panel discussion on -"Closing The Global Transport And Energy Infrastructure Investment Gap" , where he talked about the much needed investment in the Rail sector to enable capacity to move huge mineral deposits prospected in Botswana .He further stated that the Government of Botswana is working hard to develop an integrated rail network , as can be evidenced by the projects in the pipeline such as the Mmamabula-Lephalale Rail Link , Mosetse Kazungula Rail project and the Trans Kalahari Rail Line . The summit gathered over 300 decision-makers from the research, business and public sector
